Exploring Our World: The Joeys Program
In the Joey room, we see children as capable explorers. Our program for children aged 2 and above is a heartfelt journey of discovery, where play-based learning meets intentional early childhood philosophy. Inspired by the theories of Vygotsky, Piaget, and Bronfenbrenner, we create a nurturing space where every interaction is an opportunity for growth and every discovery builds a foundation for lifelong learning.

By drawing on proven pedagogical theories, we foster independence and confidence in these early years. We believe in the power of the 'Zone of Proximal Development' to gently guide children as they master new skills through play and social interaction, ensuring they feel secure and empowered in their learning environment.
The Language of the Land: Connection to Country
Deeply woven into our daily experiences is a profound connection to the natural environment. Through gardening and sustainability practices, Joey children learn to care for the earth from a young age. Our regular incursions celebrate and honour Aboriginal culture, connecting children to Country and fostering a deep respect for the First Nations history of the land we play and learn on.
Growing Together: Health and Wellbeing
We take a holistic approach to every child's development, nurturing their wellbeing, independence, and social skills through rich, meaningful experiences. Our children benefit from incursions covering social skills, health, and the celebration of Aboriginal culture and connection to Country. Through our Munch and Move program, children develop healthy eating habits and fundamental movement skills that lay the foundation for a lifetime of wellbeing. Families are warmly welcomed into our community through regular events that strengthen the bond between home and the centre, ensuring every child feels safe, supported, and deeply connected.

The Kangaroo Preschool Program
Our Kangaroo room is an inspiring hub for school readiness, specifically designed for children in the year or two before they begin their primary school journey. We focus on nurturing the whole child, ensuring they transition from our care not just prepared, but truly excited for the adventures ahead.
Ready for Big School
Our dedicated school readiness program is intentional, play based, and deeply rooted in nature. We build confidence, independence, and essential social and emotional skills not through a sit down, structured approach, but through rich play experiences and meaningful connections with the world around them. Our Early Childhood Teachers and educators are highly knowledgeable, drawing on the wisdom of theorists such as Vygotsky, Piaget, and Bronfenbrenner alongside the Early Years Learning Framework to ensure our program reflects what we know to be true; that children learn best through play, relationships, and experience.

School readiness at our centre looks like a child who can manage their emotions, navigate friendships, take turns, follow routines, and approach new challenges with curiosity and resilience. Letters, numbers, and early literacy and numeracy concepts are woven naturally into play and explored through nature, so that children develop these skills in a way that feels joyful and meaningful. It is built in the garden, during loose parts play, on excursions into the community, and in the everyday moments shared between children and educators.

Our environment is intentionally designed as a third teacher, where every corner, resource, and experience is purposeful and invites children to explore, discover, and grow. We focus on nurturing the dispositions that truly prepare children for school and for life; curiosity, persistence, confidence, and a love of learning. Play based learning is the most evidence based, intentional, and effective approach to early childhood education, and our team is deeply committed to getting it right for every child.

Our Kangaroos venture out into the local community through regular excursions, building real-world independence, a sense of belonging, and an understanding of the world they are growing up in. Combined with visits from dental health professionals and warm family events that welcome families into the heart of our centre, we ensure every child is supported in every dimension of their development.
